this is how you fall in love (TEN$IØN BØØTLEG) - A TRACK REVIEW
I’ve always loved future bass. It compliments a variety of moods to say the least. A Twitter user, @zwiles69, sent me a track of theirs to check out.
Being out of touch with the genre for quite some time, I approached this with a very open mind. I enjoyed the track as a first time listen. The dreamy keys are just loud enough to set a mood and not overpower the vocals, and the vocals? I love the lows. The highs could’ve been slightly brighter and louder, but nothing I can really complain about. Some hi-hats would’ve complimented the buildup to the first drop really well, but the white noise works just as fine. Love the classic future bass drop though. It’s got color, abrupt halts and let’s talk about the “I love you” whispery (is that even a word?) adlib that tickles my ear.
The track definitely becomes solid towards the second half. The vocal layering, amazing. The strings? Serene and bright, just how I like them. I loved that the second buildup had a series of kicks leading to the drop. Sprinkles of FX here and there throughout the track really add to the atmosphere. Although the distorted tone in the outro is not my favorite, I see how it flows well with the track.
Overall, it was a great track. Adhering to the genre-set of future bass, the song holds itself together quite well. I’m impressed!
